Native Food & Wine was started in 2009 by Amber Share and Kevin Lynch who combined their 30 years expertise in cooking, oenology and cultural history to create this online food, wine and travel publication. What inspires Native Food & Wine is the way that communities and cultures preserve their heritage, understand their land and meet their needs both for their survival and enjoyment. To study this more closely Native Food & Wine has set off on a gastronomic and cultural tour of the globe to research and record how people have historically and currently produce what they eat and drink. The focus is on the people, places and those practices that bring food and wine to us all and that make for the pleasures we experience at the table.

Kevin Lynch is a certified sommelier through the Court of the Master Sommelier. His many articles on wine, food and spirits have appeared in national and international luxury lifestyle magazines. He is also the International Wine Examiner for Examiner.com. After completing his graduate work in Art History at the University of Salzburg, Austria, Kevin moved to the Bay Are where he got his start in the food and beverage industry. As a restaurant professional he took on many roles from bartender, to matire d’ to management. He has worked for James Beard award-winning chef Traci Des Jardins and at Michelin starred Bouchon Bistro in the Napa Valley. He has resided in Chicago, New York City and Paris, France. Kevin is an avid swimmer and plays guitar and drums.

Amber Share completed her culinary degree at The Cambridge School of Culinary Arts in 2006. She also holds the foundation level Certified Wine Professional title from The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone. Prior to culinary school Amber spent ten years in the food and beverage industry in diverse roles including restaurant management and service, wine cellar worker and winery lab assistant. She has worked as a private chef and in the kitchens of Blu Restaurant, and Bouchon Bakery. As an advocate of community responsibility she has volunteered with the Wonder of Reading, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and The World Wildlife Fund. A third generation Southern Californian, Amber has also lived in Montréal, Seattle, Boston, and the Napa Valley. In addition to cooking she is interested in food history, culture and photography.
